T2: IBM Distinguished Engineer Bill O'Connell to Discuss Database Architecture for SOA, BI, Data Warehouses

IBM Distinguished Engineer, Dr. Bill O'Connell, is the CTO for Business Intelligence for IBM Information Management. He will deliver a DataServices World presentation on June 24. The topic is database architecture that meets the requirements of Internet and enterprise applications and services for data warehousing, business intelligence and SOA.

 "Database Architecture for SOA, BI and Data Warehousing" will run from 10:00 - 10:50 am at DataServices World, which is co-located with SOAWorld 2008 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

Biography

Dr. Dr. Bill O'Connell, IBM Distinguished Engineer, is the CTO for Business Intelligence (BI) for IBM Information Management. Bill is responsible for the BI architecture and technical strategy across both the DB2 and BI Organizations. This includes aligning IBM Software and Hardware Systems Group as well as IBM Business Consulting Services for BI. In this role, Bill owns the BI integration and technical directions for DB2, Data Warehouse Edition, Balanced Configuration Unit as well as the BI vertical market technical solutions.

Prior to joining IBM, Bill was an Architect of the NCR Teradata Database System. Bill also has been an adjunct Professor teaching database engineering for over 15 years at such schools as Princeton University and University of Toronto. He received his Doctorates at Illinois Institute of Technology.
