Distinguished Faculty Spurs Attendance at Launch of DataServices 2008
The inaugural DataServices World conference ran during SOAWorld 2008 in New York City and helped SOAWorld reach a high level of attendance. The strong content of the DataServices World program and the distinguished faculty led to overflow sessions at the conference venue (Roosevelt Hotel in New York City).The conference faculty included an ACM Fellow, the lead architects of the Enterprise Java at Sun and data programmability initiative at Microsoft, and other software gurus. The DataServices World program covered mathematical innovations, scalable database architectures for SOA, heterogeneous data integration, data modeling, WADL and URIs, LINQ and ADO.NET Data Services. Besides individual presentations, the program included a panel discussion and a data access and data services workshop.
WSAS 2.0 Wins Product of Year Award for Data Services/Integration
WSO2 announced its WSO2 Web Services Application Server (WSAS 2.0) received the SearchSOA.com Product of the Year award for the Data Services and Data Integration category. WSAS 2.0 is an open source server product that supports mashups with data services that access SQL data and expose Enterprise Java Beans as web services. It supports REST, the XML Key Management Specification and the WS-Security stack. The WSO2 Web services Application Server is based on Apache Axis2 and it runs 400%+ faster than Apache Axis 1.
XAware Announces Partnership with Appcelerator and Active Endpoints
XAware, Inc. announced a collaboration with
Appcelerator and Active Endpoints that will include those companies in the XAware Ecosystem. Appcelerator is a player in the rich
Internet application (RIA) space, providing an SDK and integrated development
environment (IDE) based on Eclipse. Active Endpoints has made significant
contributions to the Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). It recently
launched a visual orchestration system, ActiveVOS, for development of
services-based applications. XAware simplifies data integration for developers
using tools and frameworks by abstracting data access and producing XML views of
data.
